Much of the Fed Ex Cup Finale had been lost in the passing of Arnold Palmer and the Ryder Cup.  It’s possible that many people would have to think hard for a few minutes to think about who won it all.  With the Fed Ex Cup title all but seemingly wrapped up, Dustin Johnson started to give others an opening with his less than stellar play on Sunday.  The two elements involved in winning from behind are playing well and getting some help from whoever is leading.

Dustin Johnson gave the field the help they needed and Rory took full advantage.  With Rory being 3 shots back with 3 holes to play, it seemed almost impossible unless something miraculous happened.  Low and behold Rory holes a wedge from 137 yards out to pull within one of the lead on 16 and birdies 18 to shoot a final round 64.  He dodged a few more opponents over the last few holes and got into a playoff which is where you can say the rest is history.  It took four more holes and a great putt to seal the deal and collect both the TOUR Championship and Fed Ex Cup Title.

Rory now has almost all of golf’s biggest trophies on his mantle except for The Masters and The PLAYERS.  Will 2017 be his year to finish them off?
